Ministry of Moms

“…Teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good; then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.” Titus 2:3-5

The Ministry of Moms (MOMS) at University Church of Christ is a group of “older” women who are seeking God with a heart to serve others.  These Moms are building community within our congregation of believers through relationships with mothers of young children.  The goal is to encourage and support young wives in what is good and right and to lead them to a closer relationship with Christ and His church.

Ministry of Moms would like to pair the young mothers at UCC with a “mentor” mom, a support person who will be praying for the young mom and her family.  There are countless ways that these generations interact to build relationships and strengthen community within our congregation.

On the first Tuesday of the month, starting in September and ending in April, we meet together to share a meal.  This meal is provided and served by older women in the congregation who volunteer to serve the young moms in this way.  Childcare is provided.  Sometimes we have a speaker, sometimes we just visit.  It is a time to get better acquainted and share information.

We value women in any role of their life and welcome participation in this group of women who are seeking to walk with God.
