The Prayer Advocate ministry asks two people each week to position themselves at the back of the auditorium to proactively pray for those worshiping. The ministry has several purposes:
- Evangelism – The ministry and the names of the Prayer Advocates is publicly mentioned each week and included in written materials to allow those attending for the first time to know that you are a believer and that you are making an effort to seek God’s will on their behalf.
- Inclusion – The ministry seeks public involvement from individuals who may otherwise be unlikely to volunteer for a public role.
- Spiritual Growth – The ministry seeks to help those involved to grow spiritually by putting them in a situation where they may experience the beauty of getting outside of themselves by becoming more empathetic and less judgmental toward God’s family.
- Answered Prayer – In short the ministry seeks to bring healing, comfort, strength, encouragement, and a host of other possible outcomes by relying on the Holy Spirit to interpret our prayers before God the Father.
